I'm a certified Focusing trainer, writer, and sabuhallá practitioner. I was formerly a syndicated columnist for The New Republic Feature Syndicate and a journalist whose reportage on Northern Ireland and South Africa appeared in The New York Times, Ms., and Commonweal.

I've lectured widely on issues raised in my books, all published by HarperCollins, New York. See Links... I've also discussed these issues on many television and radio programs, including The Today Show on NBC, The Sally Jesse Raphael Show, Donahue, and Fresh Air with Terry Gross on NPR. I've been featured in film documentaries including On the Eighth Day: Perfecting Mother Nature and High Tech Babies in the PBS Nova series.

I'm now living in West Dummerston, Vermont where I steward Ger Y U Nant with Helen Hawes.

Through Ger Y U Nant, I provide sabuhallá: bodywork for the whole being as
well as private Focusing sessions. In addition, I offer workshops and
community events that bring Focusing and artistic expression together to
further growth and change.
